Description
Garage Door Bearing
1” Steel Bearing – Sealed Bearing.
1″ Inside diameter, 2″ Outside diameter.
Commonly used as a garage door bearing in either end bearing plated or center bearing plates.
Also commonly used in commercial garage door opener applications where extra support is needed to the garage door shaft.
Tested to withstand 400# load at 35,000 12’ tall door cycles.
Although this is a sealed bearing it is recommended that that lubrication is used on the shaft in the area that is passes through the bearing.
These are time tested bearings that have been used in the garage door industry for decades. Every torsion spring door uses this type of bearing and it is amazing how well these hold up. We see many old and worn out garage doors on a daily basis and most times the bearings are in usable shape even after the rest of the door has plain wore out.
As long as the shaft is installed true and plumb we see vary little wear to these bearings. it is when the shaft is not true that the trouble begins.
These bearings come in handy for other uses than there intended garage door bearing. Used with one of many different type bearing plate, these bearings can be used to support any 1″ round pipe, pole, dowel, tube and so on. We have them holding up rods that are supporting spools and rolls all over our shop.
Good item to have on hand for times when your putting together that random project.
